I pretty obviously don't believe in christianity & christian ideas of 'perfection' & 'being saved'... so don't you think it's a bit dumb of you to respond to me from the christian perspective? I think you'd have been far better off just ignoring me, since i quite clearly stated how little i appreciate your arrogant & judgemental input.

Doesn't an 'allegorical' Garden of Eden nullify the need for a Ransom?
by AK - Jeff ini have noted in the past few months or years that christians, when faced the nearly insurmountable evidence that the garden of eden events are improbable if not impossible [i refer to fossil evidence that supports hominid existence on this planet perhaps millions of years ago, as example] to overcome, that the 'fall back' position is often that the garden of eden account is just allegory, not literal.. but it occurs to me that if it is just allegorical, then there is no specific event to mark the 'fall of man' and 'original sin'.
without that, what purpose is served with the idea of a 'ransom' in which 'the last adam' overcomes the sin of adam in the garden.
why would nt writers refer to the events as if literal if they are just allegory?

Except evolution is not a progression, & our morality is not better than that of other animals, it just suits our needs. We have the luxury to be moral. So all in all, christianity & judaism = fail.

I need no saviour sir. Speak for yourself. I really wish christians would do that, they speak on behalf of humankind FAR TOO MUCH & some of us are getting just a little sick of it to be quite honest.

Ah, what awful timing!
by Psychotic Parrot intrust this to be in the news during the same month as the peace & security-based 'special talks'.
not a patch on the 1986 year of peace, but still, it'll get some j-dubs murmuring.
the volcano in iceland doesn't help either, seismic activity has always been a 'sign' for them.. http://news.sky.com/skynews/home/world-news/middle-east-peace-israel-under-pressure-from-us-over-settlement-growth/article/201004315608794?f=rss.

Where do we go when we die?
by wannabe inwhere do we go when we die?.
there are many very confusing concepts about this subject.
about where we go when we die, and no one i've found to date has really set forth a satisying answer to this question; so i thought i might just employ some of the knowledge i've gained from my own thirty year study of the bible.. where actually would be the most sensible place to begin when dealing with this subject?

We don't go anywhere. The word 'go' is being completely misapplied here. Asking "where do we 'go' when we die?" is like asking "what is further north of north?"
We didn't come from anywhere when we were born, & we don't go anywhere when we die. If people can accept that we didn't exist before birth, & that our personality is an emergent property of our brain (which most people do), then why do so many find it difficult to accept that when the brain dies, our personality dies with it? I think the rational part of their brain does accept it to be honest, it's just the irrational survival driven part of the brain that can't handle it.

That photo twitches back & forth in hypnotic fashion, something which j-dubs are pretty used to, to be honest.
And no, no demons here.
